wood.delivery is a demand-capture front end for the
timber.bid firewood marketplace. When you request
firewood delivery here, your request is created directly in the timber.bid platform,
where local sellers see it and send you quotes. This policy explains what we collect
and why.
What we collect
- Contact details — the email address and/or phone number you enter so sellers can send you quotes.
- Delivery request details — the delivery area (city/state and approximate coordinates derived from the ZIP you enter), the amount of wood, wood condition, timing, and any notes you add.
- Usage & attribution data — via the timber.bid analytics pixel, we record page views and a first-party anonymous identifier, along with any
utm_* or referral (ref) parameters in the link you arrived from. This is used to measure marketing and credit referrals. - Chat messages — if you use the "Ask Woody" chat, your messages are sent to the timber.bid chat service to answer you and, if you ask, to post a firewood request on your behalf.
- Free-wood posts — if you post on the free wood board, the material, load size, area (city derived from the ZIP you enter), any title or notes you write, and your contact details so interested takers can be connected with you. The public board shows only your city and post details — never your street address or contact information.
- Driver waitlist — if you join the drive-for-us waitlist, your email, ZIP, and vehicle type. Used for exactly one thing: telling you when driving opens in your area. Waitlist entries are not publicly readable.
We do not ask you to create an account here, and firewood requests are posted as a
guest (no login). We do not knowingly collect information from children.
How we use it
- To post your firewood request to timber.bid and let nearby sellers (typically within about 25 miles) send you quotes.
- To email you transactional updates about your request and the quotes you receive.
- To measure site performance and attribute referrals to the marketers who send us traffic.
Email and phone
Quote-related emails are transactional — you receive them because you
asked for quotes. Marketing email is opt-in only: we email you marketing
only if you check the marketing box in the request form, and you can
unsubscribe
at any time.
Your phone number is used only to deliver your quotes. We do not send
marketing text messages.
Who we share it with
- timber.bid operates the marketplace and backend that stores and processes your request; its privacy policy governs that processing.
- Firewood sellers near your delivery area can see open requests and the contact method you provided in order to quote you.
- Service providers such as our hosting and email delivery vendors, acting on our behalf.
We do not sell your personal information.
Accounts, payments, and checkout
Creating an account, messaging sellers, and paying for firewood all happen on
timber.bid. Any information you provide there is handled under timber.bid's own
privacy policy and
terms.
Your choices
To access, correct, or delete the information tied to a request, or to ask a
privacy question, contact us at the address below. Because requests are posted as a
guest, please include the email or phone you used so we can locate it.
